THE LATE PHILOSOPHY OF RICOEUR Abstract: The article begins at the time when Ricoeur assumes the “linguistic turn” and develops the starting point of his philosophy. First, he analyses the similarities and differences between symbol and metaphor, and subsequently studies the relationship between hermeneutics and text theory. Then it studies the “mimesis” as Ricoeur interprets it, and leads to the notion of tale as a key concept of the narrative hermeneutics. In the second part, it studies the relationship between the hermeneutics of one self and the narrative identity and leads to the notion of ethic subject. Then follows with an analysis of the capable man, and ends in the ontology of one self, which is characterized as praxic ontology. Key words: hermeneutics, narrative, tale, mimesis, symbol, metaphor, text, one self, narrative identity, ontology.
