LA FAMA REQUERIDA EN LOS CANDIDATOS A LOS ALTARES A LA LUZ DE LA INSTRUCCIÓN «SANCTORUM MATER»
RESUMEN
El autor estudia la importancia de la llamada «fama sanctiattis» en el conjunto de las Causas de Beatificación y Canonización. Ya desde la antigüedad dicha fama —de virtudes o de martirio y de signos extraordinarios—, con las características espontánea, no provocada artificiosamente y extendida en una buena parte del pueblo de Dios, ha sido considerada por la doctrina y la jurisprudencia canónica como el auténtico motor que pone en movimiento la maquinaria de las Causas de los Santos y sin la cual, convenientemente probada, no se debería comenzar. El artículo expllica cómo la reciente Instrucción de la congregación para las Causas de los Santos, Sanctorum Mater (2008), ha vuelto a recordar con insistencia la importancia de la «fama», detallando el modo de que ésta debe ser tratada en la fase diocesana del Proceso por parte del Postulador, del Obispo diocesano y del Tibunal escogido por él. ABSTRACT
The author examines the importance of the «fama sanctitatis», the reputation of sanctity in the whole of the Causes of Beatification and Canonization. Since ancient times this fame —of virtues or martyrdom and extraordinary signs— with the characteristics of spontaneous, uprovoked ad extended in a good part of the peopl of God, has been considered by the doctrine and canonical law as the real driving force that ets in motion the machinery of the Causes of Saints, and without, properly tested, it should not start. The article explains how the recent Instruction from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, Sanctorum Mater (2008), reminds strongly the importance of the «fama», detailing how it must be treated by the Postulator, the diocesan Bishop and the Tribunal in the diocesan phase of the Process.
