Fourth International Congress of Neo-Latin Studies Bologna 1979
The Fourth Congress of the taternational Association for Neo-Latin Studies (IANLS) will meet from 26 August to 1 September 1979 at the University of Bologna, Italy, in conjunction with the International Federation of Societies and Institutes for the Study of the Renaissance. There wiU be sections and seminars dealing with a range of NeoLatin literary and philological topics, as well as with the history of science, history of law, history of ideas, historiography, and Italian humanism in relation to other countries. The Committee responsible for selecting the speakers and arranging the programme for the 1979 Bologna Congress consists of Prof. Schoeck (Chairman), Prof. Paoletti, Prof. McFarlane and Dr. Tuynman. AH proposals and suggestions for the Congress Programme should be sent to the Chairman. According to the guidelines given by the Congress at Tours, the Programme Committee will draw up a programme comprising: a) a Business Meeting on Friday 31 August, preceded by a short general meeting at the beginninK of the Congress on which the agenda of the Business iMeeting will be discussed briefly; b) plenary sessions with lectures of 45 minutes; c) short lectures of 15 or 20 minutes Un English, French, Italian, or German) in sections dealing with a range of Neo-Latin literary and philological topics, as well as with the history of science, history of law, history of ideas, historiography, and Italian humanism in relation to other countries; d) seminars. There will be a number of seminars, each of two or three hours duration, and each devoted to a single topic or theme. Each seminar wiU be limited to about 15 participants. Scholars are invited to propose topics for seminars to the Programme Committee, and those who indicate a wiUingness to organize one of the seminars are invited to submit detailed proposals.
