ABSTRACf
Canon 13 of the N Lateran Couneil (1215) prohibits the foundation of a 110va
religio. The Canon was ineorporated in the Compila/io n7 (1216-1217) under the chap~
ter Ne nimia. In the same book, the third, and with the same mbric under the title de religiosis domibus... e incipit, Ne nimia, the Canon becarne part of the Decretals of Gregory IX (1234). The authors have noted its obscure writing and failure, which did not hinder the establishment of new religions. Ne nimia is now understood against tlle background of the C01pllS ¡uris Canonici and its ¡atent effecr on the "new institutes" of simple vows wirh a superior general (1854-1900). The celebration of the eighth centenary of the Council (2015) has suggested to put together canon 13 and canon 605 of the Code of Canon Law (983) about the new forrns of conseerated Hfe, with an imprecise theological and legal content.
