POSITIVE LANGUAGE AND NEGATIVE LANGUAGE ABOUT GOT IN THE MASTER ECKHART Abstract: Biographical data at our disposal present Eckhart as a master of life and doctrine. From a philosophical point of view, his doctrine of God is the heart of his thinking. This article deals with his conception of language about God, a language which is not only a negative one but positive as well. From the general prologue to the Opus tripartitum and the prologue to the Opus propositionum it is shown how analogy allows us to go beyond the negative language about God. At the end of the article, a translation into Spanish of both prologues is included as an appendix. Key words: God, negative language, positive language, analogy.

H. Denzinger y A. Schönmetzer, Barcelona: Herder, 1976, n. 96.
