El presente artículo pretende responder a esta cuestión capital y actual para la exégesis y la teología analizando los prólogos a las obras exegéticas sobre el Antiguo Testamento de San Cirilo de Alejandría, que constituyen un ejemplo significativo en el que convergen en singular síntesis las líneas más sobresalientes de la interpretación patrística del mismo y los principios que inspiraron su hermenéutica, que podrían resumirse en la frase: “Finis legis et prophetarum Christus”. This paper attempts to answer this capital and current question for the exegetical and theological reflection, analyzing the prefaces to the exegetical works on the Old Testament of Saint Cyril of Alexandria. These prefaces constitute a significant example in which converge in a unique synthesis of the salient lines of patristic interpretation of the Old Testament and the key principles that inspired it.
