¿QUÉ ES EL HOMBRE EN EL PENSAMIENTO DE JOHN STUART MILL? UNA RESPUESTA DESDE SU PENSAMIENTO ANTROPOLÓGICO
Resumen: El artículo que a continuación desarrollo trata, dentro del pensamiento filosófico de J. S. Mill, de mostrar la idea de hombre que defiende dicho filósofo. Con esa idea, Stuart Mill intenta responder a la pregunta ¿qué es el hombre? El pensamiento de Mill se suele asociar al movimiento de la ética utilitarista, pero el sujeto de la ética es el ser humano. Por tanto, es oportuno mostrar cómo entiende al hombre Mill. En las páginas siguientes se puede ver que para Mill el hombre es esencialmente libertad, pero los rasgos que lo configuran son la originalidad, como signo de excelencia humana, la espontaneidad, el talento y otros aspectos similares. Se muestran también opiniones de otros autores sobre estos aspectos. En el fondo, en el pensamiento de Mill aparece también la educación como algo que ayuda a construir a los seres humanos como seres excelentes que viven en sociedad para ser felices preocupándose, desde la acción política, por el bien general. What is the human in thought of John Stuart Mill? An answer from anthropological thought
Abstract: The article below is developing, within the philosophical thought of J. S. Mill, to show the idea of a man who defends the philosopher. With that idea, Stuart Mill attempts to answer the question “What is man? Mill´s thought is often associated with movemente of utilitarian ethics, but the subject of ethics is human. It is therefore appropriate to show how man understands the Mill. On the following pages you can see that for Mill man is essentially free, but the features are the original shape, it as a sign of human excellence, spontaneity, talent and the like. Also shown are the views of other authors on these aspects. In the end, in Mill’s thinking also appears education as something that helps human beings to build great beings living in society to be happy worrying, from political action, for the general good.
