Los niños vienen genéticamente dotados para la adquisición del Lenguaje, según Chomsky. El concepto de plurilingüismo ha ido adquiriendo gran importancia y se incluye en el Marco Común de las Lenguas Europeas. Hoy en día el objetivo de aprendizaje será alcanzar la competencia plurilingüe. Pero teniendo en cuenta la adaptación o aculturación social y psicológico al grupo de la segunda lengua. La lingüística de la comunicación ha venido a demostrar que conocer una lengua es algo más amplio que la interiorización de las unidades y reglas.
