Resumen / Abstract
El artículo repasa los orígenes del formato late niht show en Estados Unidos, como principal referente del género del entretenimietno en telvisión. La revisión histórica comprende los programas y los comunicadores más importantes desde los años 40 hasta la actualidad: Steve Allen, Johny Carson; David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien Y Jon Stewart. En la parte final se mencionan algunas influencias de este formato en España, así como los ejemplos más relevantes, con especial atención a las producciones de El Terrat, desde su fundación, y a su principal figura y comunicador, Andreu Buenafuente. This article takes a glance at the most important late night shows of the American television history, as the main referent of the entertainment genre.The historical review embrace programs and hosts from the 40's to these days: Steve Allen, Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and Jon Stewart. At the end of the text, there are special details about the influences of this format in Spain, in the entertainment broadcast El Terrat, and its principle figure and host,Andreu Buenafuente.
