Resumen / Abstract En este artículo se estudia la visión de Iberoamérica que se muestra en los textos de viajes de Maruja Torres y la crítica sociopolítica que en ellos aparece. La explotación de los indígenas y del continente, la barbarie como norma durante los regímenes autoritarios del siglo XX y la pobreza son las claves que definen la vida del sur y del centro del continente a finales del siglo pasado. Asimismo se analizan las relaciones entre la información internacional, la transnacional y el periodismo de viajes para ver su complementariedad. This paper studies the view of Latin America shown in the travel texts by Maruja Torres, and the sociopolitical criticism appearing in them. Exploitation of native people and of the continent, barbarity as a general rule during the authoritarian regimes of the 20th century, and poverty are the defining keys of the South and Centre of the continent at the end of the past century.The article also analyzes the relationships between international information, transnational information and travel journalism in order to prove their complementarity.
